What is welcome message?

An AI chatbot welcome message is the first interaction a user has with your chatbot. Imagine it as the friendly assistant greeting you when you walk into a store. This message sets the tone for the entire conversation and creates the first impression of your brand's AI capabilities. A well-crafted welcome message can enhance user engagement, drive conversions, and build a positive brand image.

The purpose of AI chatbot welcome messages is to initiate conversations by creating a warm and inviting environment for both new and returning users. These messages can be customized based on customer segments and should align with your brand's voice to ensure consistency and authenticity.

Importance of AI Chatbot Welcome Messages

First Impressions: The welcome message is the brand's first voice in a conversation, making it critical to engage users from the outset.
Driving Engagement: This message offers an opportunity for users to ask questions or explore your services/products.

Setting Up a Welcome Message in Jetlink

Step 1: Go to app.jetlink.io.
Click on the Jetbot menu and then enter the "Edit Content" page.
At this stage, you'll see two fixed intents at the top: Welcome Message & Unrecognized Message Response.

Step2: Click on the Welcome Message.
Next, go to the "Responses" section and specify what you want to send to the user as a welcome message.

Step3: In the "Responses" section, you can also customize your welcome message based on the selected channel by using the "Selected Channel" option.

If your chatbot is integrated with WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook Messenger, you can enhance the user experience by setting up a customized welcome message. However, note that the chatbot cannot initiate the conversation on WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook Messenger; the first message must always come from the user. This message can be anything the user chooses, not necessarily just "Hello."

Welcoming the user without any input is only possible on channels managed by Jetlink.
